Guess what?!

No, Johnny is not pregnant, but I am! Wahoo! We are really excited. We went to the doctor last Tuesday and heard the heart beat, it was awesome. I'm almost 4 months along, which means about 2 weeks ago I started feeling like I've got a little more bounce in my step. I was pretty sick for the first 3 months, it was no fun. Luckily I have a husband who is willing to: rub my back (or head if I have a headache), run to the store if I feel like I need something to eat that we don't have, get me countless bowls of cold cereal(usually cheerios or rice crispies), switch me sides of the bed, and wait on me hand and foot. That has truly made this first trimester bearable (it was really bad for a while). Anyway, we are so EXCITED to add a little person to our family. We're due OCTOBER 7th!

Uncle Dave's 40th Bash!

Last month my dad's youngest brother (uncle Dave), turned 40. We had to make it awesome. His birthday actually fell on a Sunday, so the plan was for him to go out to dinner with all the brothers and sisters on Saturday, and then on Sunday everyone would come over for his birthday. At least that's what he thought. The real plan was while Dave was out to dinner some of the cousins were to go to grandmas to get the place all decked out for a huge suprise party. It went off without a hitch.

Also, earlier that day some of the cousins went bowling with Dave. He had a blast. My mom made the biggest birthday cake ever! Just look at the picture. Six layers of cake, and all different flavors! It was definitely a crowd-pleaser. Johnny and I made a DVD of Dave's life set to his favorite theme show music. I must say that it was pretty cool. He sang all the words to all the songs while he watched and mimicked his faces in the pictures (of himself). We love our uncle Dave!

Road Trip

A few weeks ago we went with my family down to Utah for my cousins Greg's homecoming from his mission. This is the cousin who found out that his sister died, and that his mother has terminal cancer; all while serving his mission. And he never came home early. Pretty inspirational. He gave an amazing talk Saturday night ,and again on Sunday. I just keep learning from this family, and I'm so lucky that they're part of mine!

Me, Johnny, Erika and Riley stayed at my cousin Darci's house. We had so much fun! We don't get to see them often so it was fun to chat and play games, and eat ice cream and fudge! Thanks guys!

DO BLONDS REALLY HAVE MORE FUN?

Better 1?

Better 2?You've heard of seasonal depression right? Well I have seasonal hair change disorder. Spring to summer my hair is usually blond. Fall through winter, I go darker. Well, this last hair change was even a bit more drastic; I got my first pair of bangs since 6th grade. They've been good to me though and I've got many compliments on them. All hail to Sherstine the (self-proclaimed) bang master. She's my older sister who does my hair. This is one of the reasons I can change my hair so often. Having a sister who's a beautician means you don't have to pay hundreds of dollars every time you want to color your hair. Truthfully, I may be abusing the privilege. I don't think my sister minds though because I usually tell her to do whatever she wants, she likes to have the power.

So... I'm wondering and up for suggestions: do I stick with the norm and get the blond hi-lights when my sister moves home in May? Or, do I stay dark? Just so you have all the info, my hair will be getting chopped off as well. So the cut will be more similar to the first picture from above( or even shorter). Also, do I keep the bangs? I'm a little nervous to have a straight bang when I will have such a short cut. Just looking for opinions, and all are welcome, except those who say my best bet would be to wear a paper bag over my head. Let's just leave those out. Thanks.

Wahoo! *Sigh*

I was just thinking that some of you may not know that last week Johnny got an awesome job at HP! I thought some more and then realized that some of you may not have even known that he was out of a job. For six months. So, needless to say we are over-joyed at this new place of employment (truthfully McDonalds was starting to be an option). I decided we needed to celebrate a little, and since I had class and Johnny had Brigadoon rehearsal, when I got home I made a quick run to pick up some of his favorites: nerds, jalepeno poppers from Jack in the Box, and Pomegranite sparkling cider. What a combo! When he got home I had this little sign made out of his favorite sweet treat. I'm such a good wife!

With unemployment being such a huge problem right now we feel really lucky that Johnny was able to find a job. We are so grateful to Heavenly Father for this blessing. He is LOVING his job so far and that is another big blessing. Life is good!
