Unbelievable

I just found out yesterday that my aunt LuAnn has terminal cancer with a matter of months to live, maybe a year. She is the mother of my cousin Lindsey who passed away six months ago on her mission in England. She's in her mid fifties. I'm in shock. It seems so unfair. She also has a son on a mission, he was out when Linz died. He has 3 months left on his mission, but he'll be home sooner than that now. I can't imagine what it must have been like for him to find out about this. I don't know what my cousins and uncle are going through, but I am hurting. One of their daughters has been living in Japan for the last year or so with her two boys and husband. So far away. It just really stinks. And it really hurts. I have been thinking alot about this and all of the questions come flooding in. Why them? Why so soon after Linz? It makes me upset and angry, but also reflective and greatful. I am so thankful for the gospel and the promises that Heavenly Father has made to us. Promises HE WILL KEEP. I have always looked up to my aunt and uncle and their family, more than any of the others. They are so happy, so righteous, so good. It's in times like these that your true colors shine, and are they ever shining. Once again, they are the ones to comfort us. To reassure my faith and strengthen my testimony. I stole this scripture from one of my cousins blogs and I've been holding on to it, with all my might:

"Believe in God; believe that He is, and that He created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that He has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend." Mosiah 4:9

I do believe, and now it's time to have faith.

A Plethora of Halloween

Erika and Riley had a Halloween party. This is Jerusha as a total goth. Sweet.
Karis and Trystan as a princess and her knight in shining armor.
And again, the knight in shining armor and his princess. (Yikes Riley)
The bloody hand punch.
Erika the football player and Riley the cheerleader.
Peter Pan and Tink!
I thought Riley resembled John Travolta in hair spray.
The Prices: Optimus Prime, Pablo, and little Pumpkin.

Erika and Sarah playing the doughnut game. I can't remember who won, but I'm pretty sure those shoulder pads were used as weapons.
Johnny trying on someone elses wig. Eat your heart out.
These next two are from our ward Halloween party the week before. This is Perry (Fred) and Val (Wilma) and Ruby (Pebbles). Fun times!
My favorite part about my costume is my shoes. Those are loofahs!

WHAT THE SNOW!???

It's October 10th and this is what Boise looks like. Craziness!
I took this one so you could see that I have HALLOWEEN decorations up and there is snow falling in front of our house. Insanity!

Johnny's B-day & Conference

We had the family over for presents and yummy carmel chocolate bars that I made. They were deeelish, if I do say so myself!
Happy Birthday!!!
Then, on Friday I suprised Johnny by booking us in a hotel, it was way fun and here I was obviously excited to g down to the hot tub.
This is how Riley and Johnny enjoyed the afternoon session of conference: under the quilting frames mom was working on. They really were both awake, even though it doesn't look like it.
Dad and uncle Dave decided to be twinners for the priesthood session where they saw my brother JAKE singing in the MTC choir. I miss him!

Cuteset Niece and Nephew Ever!!

So, I totally stole this picture off my sisters blog. I was looking at it and realized how much I miss those litte rug rats! Can't wait til Christmas! How many days left dad?

Our NEW and IMPROVED Apartment!

A few weekends ago we painted our new apartment, got new furniture, and new linoleum. It was a really long day, but it was worth it. I only wish I had taken pictures of the place before the make over. The living room walls were all the dungeony charcoal gray, yuck! And the kitchen and bathroom had that flat, nasty CARPET. Thanks to Erika and Riley, and Perry And Val, for working all day long with us! ( These pictures are kindof out of order) Erika got paint in her eye, among other places.

Here is our amazing over-sized chair, so comfy! This is the loveseat. As you can see we have all of our halloween decorations up.
This is the computer room which will eventually be the baby rooom, hence the disney.
We love the linoleum. SO much better than the carpet that used to be here.
This was during the painting and everything. Kindof a mess.
Johnny was outside measuring and cutting linoleum all day. He got a little sunburned.
This wall used to be maroon, we primed it and painted it milk chocolate (that was the name of the color). It seems I forgot to put a picture of that wall up. I'll add it later.
I stepped right in the wet paint. We were lucky I didn't step onto the carpet with that foot!
Here is Val just painting away. She did alot of the edges and corners which I was so grateful for. You can see the gray paint that was underneath.

We love our little apartment and feel lucky to be living so close to our bestest friends. You should all come visit!

All In a Days Work.. or FUN!

Saturday was a really busy day for me and Johnny. We went to my grandmas 83rd birthday party at the care center where she lives.
Dad was rolling around in that wheelchair all day.
We had to make something for our ward picnic that was right after grandmas party. So we made these fun pumpkin cupcakes. I think they turned out really cute.
And then we (well Erika and I) helped Heidi get off to the Homecoming dance. Doesn't she look smashing?(Does that dress look familiar Jess?) Also I went to dinner with the women in my family and then watched the Relief Society Broadcast. What a day!
