Christmas Party!

Last Friday Johnny and I hosted a Christmas party with all our friends. It was so much fun to see everybody. This is pretty much the whole gang. We're all holding up our white elephant gifts.
Michael and Kim.
Santa even came! It was so hilarious, we had my dad dress up as Santa and just show up. Everyone was cracking up, it was pretty funny.
David and Melissa sneaking treats.
Riley getting some cuddle time in with Ruby.
After alot of people left (and Natalie and Ryan finally got there), it was pretty late and we started getting a little crazy. Everyone was showing off their best moves. Here's Johnny showing how strong he really is, he can hold all his weight! I guess when you think about how much he weighs, its not as impressive, good job though! Natalie with the ever-famous head-stand. Classic. Perry and Val and their amazing airplane extravaganza! This one really doesn't show the amazingness of my trick, looks like I'm just laying on the floor. But really I am doing what we now call the "rocking worm". Ryan was a little tired to do any tricks, but I had to put a picture in of him and Natalie. He always makes weird faces if he knows you're taking a picture of him, so Johnny caught him unaware. Christmas is in just over a week and we hope that all of our friends and family have an enjoyable holiday, we know we will!

Thanksgiving

These are somewhat out of order. This is grandma acting out the word crazy. It was hysterical. We played Thanksgiving charades with the whole Spjute clan.

This year my family went to Johnny's parents house for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun. The dinner was delicious and afterwards we played a bunch of games. Good times!
Johnny's mom slaving away in the kitchen.
We put up our tree almost 2 weeks before Thanksgiving (much to Johnny's dismay). I can still be thankful with a beautiful tree in our living room!

p.s.

My cousin Greg made the decision to stay on his mission for the last 3 months. What a courageous sacrifice! I know he, and his family, will be tremendously blessed for the decision he made.

Also, I have been slacking big time on the blog as of late. I will try to get pictures up soon of the funs things we've been doing. Hint: Disney on Ice & Thanksgiving.

FYI

Go to my music on the left column of my blog and click on the song O Holy NIght by David Phelps. You won't be sorry. It's the most amazing O Holy Night I've ever heard. Happy Holidays!

Unbelievable

I just found out yesterday that my aunt LuAnn has terminal cancer with a matter of months to live, maybe a year. She is the mother of my cousin Lindsey who passed away six months ago on her mission in England. She's in her mid fifties. I'm in shock. It seems so unfair. She also has a son on a mission, he was out when Linz died. He has 3 months left on his mission, but he'll be home sooner than that now. I can't imagine what it must have been like for him to find out about this. I don't know what my cousins and uncle are going through, but I am hurting. One of their daughters has been living in Japan for the last year or so with her two boys and husband. So far away. It just really stinks. And it really hurts. I have been thinking alot about this and all of the questions come flooding in. Why them? Why so soon after Linz? It makes me upset and angry, but also reflective and greatful. I am so thankful for the gospel and the promises that Heavenly Father has made to us. Promises HE WILL KEEP. I have always looked up to my aunt and uncle and their family, more than any of the others. They are so happy, so righteous, so good. It's in times like these that your true colors shine, and are they ever shining. Once again, they are the ones to comfort us. To reassure my faith and strengthen my testimony. I stole this scripture from one of my cousins blogs and I've been holding on to it, with all my might:

"Believe in God; believe that He is, and that He created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that He has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend." Mosiah 4:9

I do believe, and now it's time to have faith.

A Plethora of Halloween

Erika and Riley had a Halloween party. This is Jerusha as a total goth. Sweet.
Karis and Trystan as a princess and her knight in shining armor.
And again, the knight in shining armor and his princess. (Yikes Riley)
The bloody hand punch.
Erika the football player and Riley the cheerleader.
Peter Pan and Tink!
I thought Riley resembled John Travolta in hair spray.
The Prices: Optimus Prime, Pablo, and little Pumpkin.

Erika and Sarah playing the doughnut game. I can't remember who won, but I'm pretty sure those shoulder pads were used as weapons.
Johnny trying on someone elses wig. Eat your heart out.
These next two are from our ward Halloween party the week before. This is Perry (Fred) and Val (Wilma) and Ruby (Pebbles). Fun times!
My favorite part about my costume is my shoes. Those are loofahs!

WHAT THE SNOW!???

It's October 10th and this is what Boise looks like. Craziness!
I took this one so you could see that I have HALLOWEEN decorations up and there is snow falling in front of our house. Insanity!
